Red Dress Wrap-up

I am a little delayed on this post since the Red Dress Show was almost a month ago but hey, better late than never right?!

To give a quick recap, we raised nearly $11,000 for Go Red for Women.  I was so impressed with the execution of the event that Carly Aplin (host of the CW) put on.  This is only the second year that this show has been held, and went flawlessly with a great turn out.  The space at the Grave's is always a beautiful place for a fashion show.  Even though the lighting was not the best on the runway, everyone still seemed to enjoy the show and it was nice that the models were able to mingle with the crowd after so people could get a closer look at the dresses.

Overall I was happy with how my dress turned out.  The design changed a bit from my initial vision but
that will happen once you actually sew the material and see how things fit on the body.
Here is my original sketch:

I ended up changing the neckline to a sweetheart shape, took out the cap sleeves and removed the peplums, which I think flattered Alisha's body better.  The dress was pretty fitted so I wanted to be sure all the curves hit in the right place.   I was not able to get a good picture of the front and back of the dress but here are some pictures from the event.

I am honored that I was asked to be a part of this great event and that we were able to raise so much money for the Go Red program.  I hope to be able to design for the show again next year.  Thank you to everyone who came out to support myself and the rest of the designers!
