Envision showcases in season looks, instead of following the fashion calendar ( typically you show Fall/Winter in the Spring and Spring/Summer in the Fall) so I wanted to create a smaller Spring collection building on the line I created last Fall. I fell in love with this floral print I found on pinterest which inspired most of my color palette. After spending an afternoon in Rochester at Ginny's fine fabrics (my favorite fabric store to shop) I found a floral fabric that almost exactly resembled this image. I had to have it, even if it was out of my budget! It was perfect!
Last weekend I had the privilege to showcase some of my Spring looks at Envision Artopia hosted by Ignite modeling agency and City pages. This was their 12th annual show held at the chic Graves 601 hotel. I have been to Envision several times in the past so it was very exciting to be apart of it as a Designer this time around. Some of the other designers featured were MAI, Kjurek, Russell Bourrienne, Kora Gleason, Lindsey DeWitt, Counter Couture, Khampsaith Davison, and boutiques Martin Patrick3, Cliche, Atmosfere, and Roe Wolfe. After spending an afternoon in Rochester at Ginny's fine fabrics (my favorite fabric store to shop) I found a floral fabric that almost exactly resembled this image. I had to have it, even if it was out of my budget! It was perfect! I wanted to keep a smaller color palette so I focused on hot pink, mint green, off white and dark gray which complimented the floral fabric. I loved the way that the floral and stripe fabric played off of each other. I intended to make a dress out of those two fabrics but ran out of yardage :( A few key silhouettes I wanted to capture in the collection were peplums, crop tops, sweetheart necklines, princess paneling, ruffles, and the trendy skater dress. Also showcasing design details like hand dying, pleating, and mixing of fabrications. I wanted this collection to be Flirty, Feminine and showcase the beauty of Spring through the beautiful floral fabric in the finale piece. Here are my designs for Envision captured by Josh Stokes and Minneapolis Tonight Thank you to everyone who came out and made this an awesome event! My designs will be available for purchase at a local boutique in May... More exciting news to come :)
